Georgia Kombou (mandolin) plays not only mandolin, but also laouto and tzoura and is the only female Cypriot soloist of the bouzouki. She is an award-winning composer whose work is inspired by Thanasis Polykandriotis, the famous composer from Athens. Born in Limassol, Georgia began playing music at the age of nine, attending piano and theory at the Greek Conservatory of Limassol. But the signs were there from an even earlier age: while very young Georgia would, she says, hold a sewing needle and a matchstick in a pretence of playing the mandolin. Of course, no parent could ignore the obvious signs, and when her father noticed his daughter’s interest, he quickly bought her a bouzouki – an instrument which has since become her trademark. Fast forward a few years and, in 1990, Georgia set off for Thessaloniki to study music, quickly building her reputation as she began to perform in concerts and make appearances in local television stations. She participated in various festivals for several years and has recently won awards for her bouzouki playing. In 2016 with her composition ‘To Diko sou Yiatrikon’ taking third place at the National Composition Prize in the ‘Traditional music today in new compositions’ category. In 2019, Georgia was awarded the Bronze Medal in several categories at Global Music Awards.

Antigoni Kyriakidou (accordion) is a highly motivated and enthusiastic musician, with a wide track record of involvement in various categories of the music industry. She works in music composition, particularly for film, she is an experienced conductor and the creator of the Saint Athanasios Municipality Choir. Antigoni is a well-known accordionist with high professional standards and improvisation, participating in concerts of several Greek singers in Cyprus as well as her own compositions. She is also an experienced music teacher, for children and adults. Antigoni has a multitude of high-level qualifications, including an MA in Music and Sonic Media, specialised in music composition for film scoring, a Diploma of Fugue, Counterpoint and Harmony and a BA in Musicology/Music Education.

Ineia is located in the Paphos region between Paphos and Polis. This picturesque village sits on the mountainous area of Laona at an altitude of 625M and affords stunning views across the Akamas Peninsula. Just 30Km north of Paphos, Ineia can be reached by following either the B7 route and then the E711, or taking the E709 and then the F708. The village originally takes its name from the word ‘ino  s’ – which was the word used by the Ancient Greeks for ‘wine’ – whilst its old-fashioned signs introduce it as ‘Oinia’, with the spelling of the village gradually changed to its current form over time. Nestled among vineyards, Ineia is one of the wine-grape growers of the area, and is included along the Laona-Akamas wine route. The village is also becoming famous for its new Turtle Museum, the only one in Cyprus, which opened in June 2023. The breath-taking beauty of the area in general makes it popular for walking and photography, and is an inspiration for many artists.
